How to create English-Thai dictionary in Semantis?

Postby APICHAT » Mon Oct 26, 2009 9:22 pm

I understand that the sdt file only supports ANSI encoding, so how do we proceed if we would like to create an English-Thai dictionary, where Thai language uses Unicode encoding. What happens is, the data record entered into Semantis appears as ???? for Thai term, indicating that the data has been replaced wrongly.

Second, how do we import an existing Terminology database dictionary into an Sdt file? Say, we have a tdb or mdb file, or database on the SQL server?

As mentioned in this post http://support.translate-now.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=238&start=0&sid=d2ef821850a5ca3c5d39418beb1b1ed5, Thai has not yet been tested or used extensively with Fortis Revolution.

In answer to your second question, importing a .tdb (Fortis 3) glossary to Semantis Revolution is actually quite simple, and instructions can be found here: http://starfish.multiling.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ#How_can_I_use_Fortis_3_glossaries_in_Fortis_Revolution.3F. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact our support team at fortis.support@multiling.com.
